When I was a teenager, my first own apartment was in the attic of Paul Kromjong's atelier. Every month, during payment of my rent, Paul taught me, just like a father teaches his son how to walk, my first steps in life and the arts. His knowledge of the Occult and his craze for the teachings of Sufism, structured his manner of instruction, and subsequently influenced my way of understanding and appreciation. Paul Kromjong is central in my research in the area of Geometrische-Abstract Art of the period 1945-1960. Both his abstract and his figurative works are represented. I have a collection of various works from Paul Kromjong |
